Description
Our soap is made on-farm from two ingredients plus some essential oils for a mild fragrance. The tallow comes from our cows and sheep and is mixed with lye to form a rich and effective soap. Lye is sodium hydroxide, a strong caustic that causes fats to saponify and become water soluble. Lye traditionally was also made on farm by trickling water through ashes using an ash hopper.
