Holiday Provisioning: Making wreaths and soap from the farm and forest

November 16, 2025 @ 1:00 pm 5:00 pm

‘Tis the season to make holiday gifts and decoration from the land. Come and celebrate the shift from the busy summer into the cozy season of wood fires, mulled cider, and handmade crafts. We are making wreaths from our vines and canes, boughs from the woods, and dried flowers grown and preserved by Taylore. Join us for a foray in the woods to gather items for the wreaths and then weaving and decorating.

Or if you prefer to make some functional farm goods to give away, Sierra will be leading a tallow soap making workshop. This soap has two ingredients, tallow from the farm and lye. Historically lye was made by running water through ash in a home built ash-hopper, but we bought the lye crystals. If you want to scent the soap we will have essentials oils to add. This soap is simple, functional, and turns would-be waste into one more farm-based good you no longer have to buy from the store.

We look forward to enjoying this beautiful fall with you and making some great seasonal crafts to give away or keep
